Services We Offer

At Hobsons Bay Physio, we take a modern approach to injury prevention and rehabilitation.
We are not about the “quick fix” - we create tailored treatment plans for each patient, and work with you to help you get out of pain, avoid the injury cycle, and reach your overall health and wellbeing goals.
We offer a full range of services to help guide and educate you on your rehab or injury journey.

  • With our diverse and comprehensive knowledge of injury management and rehabilitation, our physiotherapists deliver excellence in the treatment of sporting injuries, workplace injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and more.

Each appointment is one-on-one for a minimum of 30 minutes and will be personally tailored to suit your physiotherapy needs. This may include manual therapy, traction, taping, and a home or gym program to increase your function and decrease your pain.

Please note : Our Enhanced Primary Care, Department of Veterans Affairs, Work Cover, Transport Accident Commission and National Disability Insurance Scheme clients will receive the full benefit of the above consultation options with no extra charge.

  • Our exercise physiologists specialise in the delivery of exercise for the prevention and management of chronic diseases and injuries. We will work with you to restore you to optimal physical function, health, and wellness, with a safe and measured approach.

    Improved Sports Performance

After conducting a physical assessment, we will design you an individualised training program to enhance your training or sports performance. We will also monitor your training loads and individual responses to ensure your program is effective and helps you reach your goals.

If you have an existing medical condition or injury, or are at risk of developing one, we can help you prevent or manage acute, sub-acute, or chronic disease or injury through exercise-based interventions, health and physical activity education, advice, and support, and lifestyle modifications.

  • We are proud to offer the unique GLA:D® program at Hobsons Bay Physio. Developed by researchers in Denmark, the GLA:D® program (Good Life with Arthritis: Denmark) is an education and exercise program for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis (OA) symptoms.

This program involves 12 group exercise sessions and 2 education sessions, as well as initial and follow-up assessments.
GLA:D® is unique because the education and exercises provided within it can be applied to everyday activities.
By strengthening and correcting daily movement patterns, we can help you train your body to move properly, preventing symptom progression and reducing pain.

  • Our hydrotherapy services offer you a supervised physiotherapist-prescribed exercise program within a hydrotherapy pool (33 - 37 degrees).

  • We offer running assessments (or a gait analysis) to athletes looking to improve their technique and capabilities.
Under the guidance of trained physiotherapists, we can identify areas of improvement, and the potential for injury, helping athletes to run faster, for longer.

We also offer bike fittings to cyclists to help reduce pain and the rate of injury during training, as well as increase performance.
During your appointment, a highly trained physiotherapist will conduct a physical assessment, and give you a take-home exercise program based on your personal goals.

  • This one-on-one personal training session with your physiotherapist is designed to help you achieve your personal goals, whether that is to decrease pain, decrease your risk of injury, increase performance, or weight loss.

If you’re unsure of the best way to exercise or your usual form of exercise is unavailable at the moment, book your physiotherapy training appointment so that your therapist can conduct a Physical Assessment and create a program tailored to you.
